Arsenal centre-back William Saliba admits the Gunners simply do not deserve to be top of the Premier League table.
Liverpool are currently 15 points clear at the top of the table and have played one game more than Mikel Arteta's side. Head coach Mikel Arteta refused to accept defeat in the title race - even when he walked out of a recent interview after being asked about the team's ambitions.
With only ten games remaining, including a clash with Cheap jerseys Liverpool in May, Arsenal's chances of winning the title are extremely slim and Saliba admits the team deserve their place.
"If Liverpool finish first, it will be because they did something we didn't do," he said. "Of course there's still a big gap between us, but we have to keep working hard."
"They are also very good. I don't think we deserve to be top this season, but we have to keep going and there is the Champions League, so we will try."
Arsenal are already out of the FA Cup and Carabao Cup and their last hope of glory may lie in Europe, where they secured a place in the Champions League quarter-finals with a 7-1 win over PSV ahead of Wednesday's last 16 second leg.
"If we don't believe or dream of winning the Champions League, then there's no point in playing," he emphasised.
We are there now, with a new format this season, qualifying is not easy. Now we've won the first game (against PSV) and tomorrow we have a great chance to win a game and qualify. After that, there are four games to go until the final. We can do it, we all believe we can. We have to work hard and pray.
It hurts us that we didn't win the cup, but we have to keep believing because we're here. We won our first game last week and if we had won or drawn, we would have been in the quarter-finals. So anything is possible. We have to believe in ourselves and everyone believes we can do it.
