Paris Saint-Germain Jerseys has sealed the obligation of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia from Napoli worth over 72 million dollars. The Georgian international has signed a contract until 2029 at Parc des Princes and arrives as the new star of the Ligue 1 champions under head coach Luis Enrique in the French capital.
Kvaratskhelia is the biggest name changing this window in January, and his winter transfer is a boost for PSG's hopes in the UEFA Champions League, depending on the results against Manchester City and VfB Stuttgart later this month.
The 23-year-old was the star of Napoli's Serie A triumph in the 2022/23 season, when Luciano Spalletti's Italian side excited Europe thanks to star players Kvaratskhelia, Victor Osimhen and Kim Min-jae.
Bradley Barcola and PSG's number 7 will compete for the left-wing berth in Luis Enrique's 4-3-3 formation, although one of the two could be deployed as a false nine for the Parisians.
“It is a dream to be here,” said Kvaratskhelia. “I have heard a lot of positive things about PSG. I am incredibly proud to join this great club, and I really look forward to wearing my new colours.”
Kvaratskhelia has scored five goals and provided three assists this season for a Napoli side not involved in continental competitions, and has made a name for himself in the 22/23 season with 14 goals and 14 assists in Naples.
A place in the squad is being created by the departure of Randal Kolo Muani, who is set to move on loan to Juventus, after failing to secure a regular place under Luis Enrique in Paris.
“We are delighted to welcome Khvicha to the PSG family,” said PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi. “Khvicha is one of the most exciting players in world football – a fantastic talent, but also a player who has courage and, above all, fights for the team.
“Khvicha was so determined, Paris Saint‑Germain football jersey to be part of our great club. I know he will achieve all his objectives with us. We look forward to strengthening our squad and continuing to make the team the star of PSG.”
